We've taken a set of formed Model A rails, stretched them and raised the front axle centerline 6".  Using a 24" tall front tire there is 4 1/4" ground clearance.  Everything is above the bottom of the frame rails including the oil pan on the engine.  We use a buggy spring in the rear and place the rear housing above the rails to maintain the levelness of the frame.  Using a 30" tall rear tire the top of the tire is at the trunk on a coupe body.  We have 3 adjustments in the rear so you can adjust the ride height to your liking.  We've installed a removable transmission mount and ladder bar mounts. The front mount of the ladder bars are at the universal joint on the transmission to give optimum transfer and traction (not that any of us would ever think of mashing the throttle to the floor).  We have added front shock towers with lighting holes and tubular engine mounts to get the engine at the 5 degrees required for a carbureted engine along with a Vega steering box mount.  A swinging brake pedal is highly recommended for this application so nothing hangs below the frame rails.

Now before you go thinking that you can just take an original frame and do some modifying to it, stop and think.  That original frame is close to 80 years old and it has cracks in it that can't be seen with the eye and most importantly, it was designed for 41 HP!
